Reviews

From time to time I’ll break a bit from my normal approach of getting everything wrong in order to do a relatively straight-forward review. Below are links to those articles.

Note to independent writers / musicians: I am happy to review your work, as I know how hard it can be for unknowns to find people willing to write about their work. The only conditions are 1) That the work is purchasable by consumers in some form; 2) That I receive a hard copy — nothing digital — for review purposes; 3) That you understand that I will be honest, and asking me to review your work does not guarantee a positive appraisal. Of course I hope I enjoy your work…but if I do not, I will be honest about it. If that scares you, you perhaps shouldn’t be writing!

  1. Hello Phillip, I am thinking about having a band’s music reviewed by you but can not find where to send the hard copy cd to. Can you share some mailing info please.
    Thank you,
    Steve Brown

    1. The old fashioned way: you come back every so often and try not to be disappointed when I didn’t post anything.

But yeah, there’s no real subscription option here. I’d be open to adding one. Do you have any other sites in mind that offer what you’re asking about?
